In Memory
of our Pet Partners

“Compassion is to suffer with, to have empathy with, and this includes joy and celebration, as well as sorrow.  It works from a strength borne out of a shared weakness and an awareness of the mutuality of us all.  It’s the bond between us and also with our animals and it includes grieving and tasting salt with our fellow men and women.
It’s a way of life, the basis of community.
It’s the way to treat all of life.”

Leo Bustad, DVM, PhD - founder of the Delta Society

About Therapy ARC - Animals Reaching Clients

Therapy ARC welcomes you to its website!  We are proud to be a Delta Society® Affiliate and we urge you to look over the Delta Society Website for detailed information and resources regarding the human-animal connection. Therapy ARC's mission is to provide the best possible animal assisted activity and therapy services, with teams of trained and registered individuals and their companion animals, to clients in Middle Tennessee. We are dedicated to the ideal of promoting the benefits of the human-animal bond.

Therapy ARC began as an outreach program of a local Humane Shelter in 2001.  In 2004, Therapy ARC formed it's own non-profit organization and continued it's growth.  Since then, Therapy ARC has pet-partner teams visiting regularly over sixty facilities in the Williamson, Davidson, Sumner, and Wilson Counties.  Pet Partner® training workshops are held regularly and are taught by Delta Society licensed Instructors.  Workshops conclude with evaluations, conducted by Delta Society licensed Evaluators, which determine the skills and aptitude of an animal-handler team.

Therapy ARC is people who are dedicated to the clients, patients, residents, and children they have committed to impact with their therapy animal partner.  We think of ourselves as a team because only by working together towards our common goal are we truly able to make a difference in the lives of others. Our vision, as a team, is to become Middle Tennessee's leading AAA/T provider, bringing innovation to the way clients' lives are enhanced.

Thank you for visiting the Therapy ARC website.  This site will be updated regularly with new information on our group’s activities, upcoming events in the area, and information on our animal-assisted activities/therapy.
