Background Check for Volunteers
Therapy ARC believes there is a need, as well as a moral and ethical
responsibility and obligation, to set the highest standards for its
volunteers who work within our community. As our Therapy ARC volunteers
work one-on-one with children, senior citizens, those with special
needs, and other clients in various settings, it is our goal and mission
to conduct our program in a competent, professional manner. We
continually strive to provide for the utmost safety and security of all
of our clients. Our teams are empowered with extensive training,
covered by a liability policy, and now will be able to offer the
additional security of having undergone a background check.
The catalyst of
the funding for the background checks has been provided by a grant from
Dollar General Corporation’s Charitable Contributions Committee for each
of the Project R.E.A.D. volunteers. The background checks for the
remainder of our Pet Partner volunteers will be paid for by Therapy
ARC’s general fund. We are pleased to have Dollar General join with our
organization in setting a mark of professionalism for other volunteer
organizations to reach.

Directors. Our Facilities are pleased that we are adding this
additional level of professionalism to our organization. We are making
an unprecedented effort to protect and assure the safety of those
clients that we serve.
